Our first of many walks

started close to Vlachopoukatika where we visited the church of Eleousa that dates back to the 1600’s

from here we then clambered up the rock face where hundreds of ancient sterna’s could be found, these would have been built for the wealthy on the island and collected both water and oil. Women would visit the sterna’s daily to collect water.

onto the village of Vlachopoulatika and a mono pati that led us to the most breathtaking viewpoint, on the way we picked wild asparagus (that’s dinner sorted then!)
