Guerilla knitting comes to Greece

whilst walking through the tranquil streets of the castle in Ioannina I came across a tree adorned in what looked like knitting off cuts! I took a photo and once back in Paxos showed it to a friend asking if she knew of any local tradition that it may reflect, it wasn’t something that she had seen before. I didn’t think anything more of it until my friend called a few nights ago to say that the knitting had made the news and is actually called Guerilla knitting or yarn bombing and is actually a form of graffiti that originated in the States as a way of using up leftover knitting projects and personalising sterile public places, it has since spread world wide and now made it’s way to Greece.
