having packed away the summer clothes for another year I was delighted to unpack the bikini and shorts for a day of kayaking. The weather has remained beautiful and although a little chilly when in the shade when out at sea or on the beach it’s sunbathing weather for sure.
Picnic packed, we set off from Plani beach on the west coast of the island, the west coast is renowned for being a little more choppy but the worst that could happen was that we fall in and with dry bags holding our things we were all set.
From the beach we paddled round to the right heading towards Lakka, it’s quite surreal being out on the open water in such a small vessel with nothing around us as far as the eye could see.
After a quick visit to a friend in Lakka bay we then journeyed back, taking in the small caves and stunning rock formations on the way.
Having built up an appetite we headed towards the small beach just past Plani where we set up camp and enjoyed our lunch in the sunshine.
A really fun day out, something I would highly recommend, thank you Lethcothea for your company and the kayak, always good to have friends in high places!
