Previous events and activities

Below is an outline of what we offered in April 2014. For all activities we asked for a donation to the instructor and/or contribution towards the cost of ingredients.

Monday 7th April

Arrival day

Tuesday 8th April

Farm visit – Vellientatika, the small hamlet of Vellientatika is located just outside of Gaios and is home to 120 goats, sheep and chickens. Katerina produces her own yogurt and cheese and we’ll be visiting her after a walk through the village taking in the stunning cliff top view of Galazio.

We’ll be meeting at Agios Yorgos church at 11am.

Wednesday 9th April

Morning walk – Starting from Agios Yorgos church in Vellientatika at 11am and taking a path along the west coast to the Mousmouli windmill. It will last approximately 2 hours.


Afternoon yoga – at Ben’s bar, Monodendri. We plan to start around 5pm and the class lasts 1.5 hours. Mats are provided but do bring some water.


Thursday 10th April

Morning in Loggos – Loggos is the smallest of the villages on the island and is picture postcard pretty. There are a few little coffee shops along the waterfront and it’s relaxing to sit with friends and enjoy a coffee in the sunshine. If anyone would like to join us we’ll be in Loggos around 11am.


Evening out at Vonza Taverna (opposite Paxos Club) 7.30pm

A Lenten feast of tarama, aubergine salad, saganaki, gigantes, briam and green salad followed by artichokes with potatoes and carrots. €15 per person, drinks will be paid in addition to this. There will also be live music.

Please do let me know if you wish to join us so that I can inform the taverna of numbers.


Friday 11th April

Morning walk – 11am, starting from Ipapanti church

Afternoon yoga – 4.30pm at Monodendri

Saturday 12th April

St Nicholas Island trip (weather dependent)

We plan to meet in the square in Gaios around 10.30am and a boat has been arranged to take us across. Do bring water and a picnic as we plan to be there till around 2pm.

A donation towards fuel will be appreciated.

Sunday 13th April

Palm Sunday mass will be taking place in various churches around the island. Guests are welcome to attend all or some of the mass, it would be best to arrive around 9.30am. The main church is Gaios (next to the bakery) will definately have mass.

Morning yoga – 11.30am at Monodendri

Evening out – Some guests may be leaving the following day so we thought it would be good to get together one last time – any excuse for another night out!

Monday 14th April

Morning walk with Socrates the donkey, starting at 11am from Fontana village

Tuesday 15th April

Afternoon yoga – 5pm at Monodendri

Wednesday 16th April

Morning walk – not taking place

Thursday 17th April

Preparation of the shrouds – various churches

Friday 18th April

Panagia island – mass and procession. Boats will be leaving from Gaios (near the square) from around 4pm, it would be best to get there around 3.30pm


pm – village processions. Lakka 8pm, Loggos 9pm and Gaios 10pm (approximately)

Saturday 19th April

am – St Jacobs Church, Fontana – banging of the pews, its best to get there by 8.30am

mid night – Easter celebrations in the villages of Loggos, Lakka and Gaios

    If one was to organise a course in Paxos how could the Loggos schoolhouse be booked as a possible venue for a week.
